Ross Gardam® is a team of designers, engineers, and makers, who work collaboratively from ideation to realization, producing contemporary lighting, furniture, and objects. Ross founded his eponymous studio in 2007, returning to Australia after years of working in Europe. The studio is located in Australia’s manufacturing heart, where the team draws inspiration from centuries-old craftsmanship in textiles, timber, brick, and metals. The studio’s methodology combines innovative technology with traditional artisanship, resulting in products imbued with subtle historical and ritualistic references. Gardam is deeply connected to the diversity of his Victoria homeland; a raw and beautiful landscape...of bushlands and coastlines. While getting his degree in Industrial Design, Ross was intrigued by the emotional relationship between people and objects. Today, the Ross Gardam Studio "unpacks those connections and explores them, informing functionality aspects and the overarching aesthetic of what we’re working to achieve." Gardam believes a closeness to the maker and an understanding of materials is central to the obsessive process of development that every Ross Gardam product receives. Adapt, from Hightower Studio x Ross Gardam is designed in Australia and manufactured in North Carolina, available exclusively through Hightower.
