MODO COLLECTION

FROM HIGHTOWER STUDIO

For the Era of Adaptability

More than a chair or a table, Modo reflects a shift in how furniture supports the way people work and connect. It is a mobile, non-dedicated seating solution designed for today’s evolving environments — where focus, collaboration, and conversation often overlap.

Designed and manufactured in High Point, North Carolina, Modo brings seating and surface into a single, fluid form. The result is a refined, but playful alternative to traditional task setups, offering greater flexibility within a smaller footprint. As classrooms, libraries, and shared spaces continue to evolve, Modo moves with them, responding in the moment and supporting interaction in a way that feels intuitive rather than prescribed.

“Modo is intentionally undefined, it’s a product that works however you need it to in that moment. There’s no instruction manual — just a piece that invites curiosity, movement, and delight.”

— Hightower Studio Design Team

Define Your Work-Mode

Mobility is expressed through options that respond to how a space functions. Models with freewheeling casters encourage easy movement, allowing users to shift naturally between people and activities. Glide-based versions offer a more grounded presence, supporting environments where stability is preferred.

Regardless of configuration, Modo maintains a consistent sense of ease, allowing users to engage with their surroundings in a way that feels natural, not directed.

Adaptable by Design

Modo adapts to the character of a space through a wide range of finish and upholstery options. Contrasting materials can create quiet depth or bold expression, while color considerations and surface choices allow the piece to settle into its surroundings.

This flexibility allows Modo to shift in tone, from expressive in learning environments to more restrained in corporate or healthcare settings, without losing its identity.

Thoughtfully Resolved

From the first interaction, Modo feels instinctive — shaped by how people naturally sit, shift, and engage throughout the day. It supports a range of postures without requiring relocation, creating comfort that adapts across different bodies and preferences. Movement feels fluid, whether staying in place or moving through a space, allowing focus to continue without interruption.

Nothing calls attention to itself; each element works quietly in the background. Personal items stay close without cluttering the floor with the integrated bag hook, while the combination of seat and surface simplifies the space around it, reducing excess and keeping everything within reach.

Made for spaces in motion, Modo supports the rhythm of constant evolution. It moves easily between moments of focus and interaction, allowing individuals and groups to shift without disruption. This ability to adapt, without requiring rethinking or rearranging, makes it a natural fit for environments where flexibility is expected rather than optional.

Designed for What Comes Next

Modo reflects a thoughtful approach to design, considering how a piece is used over time and how it continues to serve as needs change. Its non-dedicated nature allows it to move fluidly between roles and environments, extending its relevance well beyond a single use.

By combining multiple functions into one adaptable form, Modo reduces excess while simplifying the spaces around it. As part of the Hightower Studio collection, it contributes to a broader design language rooted in considered solutions, flexibility, and enduring use.
